Board matters had the result of producing jit the above meeting on Thursday an ■ attendance • of'just "nine," 'whick inolnded- fottf. members of the Bbardj andthe clerkl>* r •■■' - The following report was 'read •—'Gentle-,. men,--During the'past year, the Board Mas held sixteen meetings, ( and the attendance of the members has been as follows : Messrs Orr 14, Stothart 14, Drummond 12, O'Shannassy 11, Hislop 10, Marshall 6, Martin 5. The Board commenced the , present year with a credit balance of £174* 18s Bd, which makes tHe revenue fdr the.year reach the/Bumjbf, £753 16s 9d. The expenditurehaVflmduJiiifJato £770 Is 2d, leaving a credit 'balance of £43 15s 2d. The most important,; wdrkacarried' out during': the ..past.- year,,- ; arej as follows: In >:the : Taradale c Wardy/ Church-road has",received considerable at-* . tentionyihe amount of £55 Is 7d having been expended on that-road. and dray work, independent of surface' labor. Hawkins'-road has been re-formed at a cost of £19 19s. .The Boiling-down- ' road has been formed at a, cost of £9 12s 6d, ■ while tho amount'spent on surface labor in the Ward has been £26 15s 6d. Meanee Ward.—ln this Ward Brazil-road has been formed .»t a cost of £37 7s; France-road formed, the cost being £21 "4s; -Tanneryroad has cost fcr metalling £46 165, : and for improvement to formation £14- 17a; the drain near the township has been' cleaned out at a cost of £13 2s 6d, one-third of which cost has been refunded by' the Hawke's Bay County Council; the cost of surface:- labor in this. Ward has been 6d. The chiefworker earned out in the Papakura Ward'have been metalling about 46 J chains in. the Main-rood, cost £59 13s Id ; metalling Donnelly-road/ £32 11s 7d; formation in Brookfield-road," £14 16s 9d; metalling Brobkfield-road, £22-9s 7d; formation of the Boundary-road,; between'the Meaneo ; and Clive districts, a¥ a cost of £40 19s, one half'of which' has been borne by the Clive Road Board: the amount of £34 13s has been paid for surface' labor in this Ward. Through the formation of the Taradale town district the Meanee road district has been considerably reduced. The Meanee ■ and l Papakura Wards remain the same, but the present Taradale Ward is only about one third ite former size, and will in future be represented! by only one member? On'thefomiationtofthe , Taradale Town Board, this Board handed over the sum of £56 9s 2S as its share of the funds then in hand, agreeing to pay'over a further sum of £18, as soon ac the whole of the rates are collected, together with a portion of the Government 'subsidy?
