The railway krr"" works between Tahoraito and Woodville are T now rapidly advancing towards completion. The assistant engineer-in-chief, Mr Blair, in company with Mr J. T.. Stewart, R.E., and J. D. Gillies, A.E., left Woodville la. t Friday afternoon in a truck temporarily seated for the occasion, attached to the ballasting locomotive engin?, reaching tho upper end of the line at Tahoraite late in the evening. >~This trip was-evidently a preliminary step towards tho opening of the line td Woodville.*" •As I hoar that tho actual day on.whichd_e.line.will be opened is fixed to be Tuesday, 22nd instant, it is needless to say that;'such a movement will make it pretty-lively for aU hands connected with the works daring the short time intervening.'' More than that with prudence, be said at present. However, it may be said that some people who work there and who claim to have had considerable knowledge cf quartz mining in other lands still continue to entertain good hopes of the place turning out to be a payable gold and silver field. But time, the great arbiter of men and mice, will soon determine, as another company only just formed, and mean business, will have a large parcel of stone thoroughly tested at an early date; ~~
