Timaru, This day. A peculiar case came before the R.M. this morning interesting to licensed victuallers. A Christchureh brewer supplied in September last a Timaru publican with two hogsheads of beer, for the value of which the brewer now sued. It appeared from the evidence that when the beer arrived it was seized by the Customs for non-cancellation of stomps, and lodged in bond. Subsequently it was released by an order from the Collector of Customs, who handed it to Mr Inues, but on the latter offering to send them agaiu to Mr Moore free of charge the latter declined to receive them, on tho ground that his need for them had passed away. Evidence was taken to-day, and the legal argument was reserved.
