WANGANUI J.C. AUTUMN MEETING.

[per press association.] Wanganui, This day. The weather is splendid for the first day's meeting' of the Wnnganui Jockey Club. The course is in grand condition, and the attendance is good. It merely is a fluke that there is a press representative on the ground, the local papers at one time seriously considering 'the "advisability of boycotting the club, owing to the studied discourtesy of the committee, who at first refused to grant privileges for the efficient reporting of the meeting. Their conduct is a striking contrast to that of other clubs on the coast. . There is- a very noticeable increase in the number of the "spieling" fraternity. For the Cup' British Lion and Cinderella have been scratched, and Apology for the Sapling Stakes,
