Education Office, Napier, February 21st, 1887. WANTED, for a new school to be opened shortly in the Borough of Napier—A Trained, Certificated Teacher as Principal. Applicants must be good disciplinarians and must give satisfactory evidence that they are skilful in the management, instruction, and training of young children. The school building is capable of accommodating about 200 children, but none will be admitted for the present of a standard higher than the third, as recognised under the Government departmental regulations. Salary depends upon average attendance. Payment will also be made for instructing the pupil teachers, and the person appointed will be entitled to participate in any bonus which might be granted by th>3 Board for distribution among the teachers of the education district upon the annual standard results. No house is provided, but an allowance at the rate of £40 per annum will be paid to the teacher who may be appointed—if a married man. Applications, accompanied by not more than four recent testimonials as to experience and skill, must be in the hands of the undersigned not later than WEDNESDAY, the 23rd day of March. To save needless trouble it is requested that none but trained and experienced teachers make application for this appointment. H. HILL, Secretary. This Board doth order that for the purpose of securing the interest and sinking fund upon a loan of £3000 to be borrowed by tho Board under the Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, ISB6, for defraying the expense of constructing a road from the proposed Tuki Tuki bridge to Mr Loughnan's Tula Tuki station, a special rate of throe -teuths of a penny in the pound be made and levied upon all that portion of the Clive Riding of the County of Kawke's Bay, containing 28,838 acres or thereabouts, and comprising the Clifton, Grange, and Tuki Tuki stations, and sections 216 and 236, Clive, being the Tuki Tuki ward of the Clive Road Board district. 2nd.
