Seventy nominations were yesterday sent in for the Great Northern Derby in conneotion with ■ the Auckland Eacing Club's summer meeting of 1888-89.
Major George has decided to send ".tibia racehorse Nelson over to Melbourne to take part in the Newmarket and Australian Cup Handicaps.
Lochiel was scratohod fer the Dunedin Cup this morning. He goes to Melbourne by the Kotomahana to-morrow.;..'
