In 1874, as a throe-year-old ho won the Grand Stand Stakes, ran second in the Tasmaniun Handicap, won tho Maidon Plate, the Tomar Plate, tho Mowbray Handicap, and Forced Handicap. In 1875, the Tasmanian performances of Dilko wero exceptionally brilliant, as the following record, taken from tho Australasian of tho 20th February of that year shows: —Won the Grand Stand Stakes, ono milo and threequarters, time 3min. 20secs.: ran second in tho Tasmanian T.C. Handicap, one mile and a-half; won the Wold Stakes, one mile and three-quarters, time 3min. 27secs. As a four-year-old, ho won tho great four-year-old Handicap in Melbourno in a canter, and finished third in tho Free Handicap at tho same mooting, having mot and defeatod some of the finest horses in tho Colonies.
