TO TAND THIS SEASON AT TARADALE. 4£3 L npHE Fashionably-bred - an< * V e *T Superior /SPIPOIk Tlironghbrod. Horse This beautiful find stont-bred horse is a dark brown, with black points, stands about 16 hands 2 inches high, his whole contour being very and has a neat expressive head, indicative of a good temper, which he possesses, his neck is long and muscular, with windpipe well detached, hia shoulders are deep and well laid back, and good enough for anything, Traducer (sire of Piscatorious), a recollection of whose name will never die while racing exists, for his progeny have proved themselves to be of the very highest class, viz , : Lurline, Calumny, Templeton, "Welcome Jack, Le Loup, and Sir Modred (winning this year the Sydney Great Metropolitan). Fisherman (sire of the dam Piscatorious), as a game and lasting horse may challenge the best of the "days that are gone.". Against the best horses in England (and always carrying top weight) in 18-56, ho started in thirty-four races, and won twenty-three races ;"in ,1857, started thirtysix and won twenty-three ; in 1858, started thirty-two and won twenty-one. Sometime after 1860 he was imported to Australia, and put to the stud, and as results have shown proved himself the Emperor of Stallions of the Southern Hemisphere, for his descendants, both at the turf and at the stud, have provod themselves the best horses in Australia. Fisherman is the sire and grandsire of the following wonders: — Sylvia (dam Martini Henry) Maribyrnong (tho most fashionable sire in Australia), : Angler (the best sire in Australia to-day), , Onyx (Auckland Stud Company's mare), Lady Heron, The Fly, Robinson Crusoe, Horatio, Goldsborough (this the coming sire of Australia), Hamlet, Cap-a-pie,; Richmond, Progress, Cunnamula, Naviga-' tor, Daginar, Ferryman, Fishhook, Gasworks, Segenhoe, Sardonyx, Tolimthc, and' Bargo (these two last mentioned horses were first and second in this year's Hawkcsbury Guineas.) Two of the best mares owned hy the Auckland Stud Company are descendants of Fisherman, St. Simon, the best horse the world ever saw, runs back to the old Fisherman strain. Fanny Fisher (dam of Piscatorious) is the dam of some of the best horses that have ever trod on the New Zealand turf. Coquette (imp., dam of Fanny Fisher), was first put to the stud in England, where her progeny proved them-, selves real clippers. She was eventually imported to Australia, and became the dam and grand dam of some of Australia's best performers. X/auncelot (sire of Coquette) was a grandly bred horse, .being out of Banter, by Camel—Launcelot. Won the English St.. Leger, 15.40. Fanny Fisher was the only Fisherman mare ever put to Traducer. This alone should make Piscatorious invaluable as a stud horse, findtvhen two such renowned strains are blended together, it requires only a few really firstclass mares to make Piscatorious as famous at the stud us his sire and grand sire. Mr Walters (and whoso opinion ought to bo respected in reference to horseflesh) always spoke of this horse as the '' future sire of New Zealand," and if shape arid appearance go for anything he should be right, for he is the model.of a racehorse, without a particle of lumber; add his blood for every requisite—speed, stoutness, running family on the sides of the sire and dam, such as cannot be surpassed. Tho following pedigree (were he alive) would make poor old Mr I'Anson's eyes glisten with delight, for :it fairly bristles with England's best and purest blood:-— fl . -3 ■ Pantaloon Caatrel £§ 3 , ... g75 o Pasquinade, sister Camel j≤ tsj {3 to Touchstone Banter ■j & ' _ S*S. : «< Ells, brother to •-'■■•■ ■ 1° J Kpirua , SSoronrikoi i> Languid, Fhter to Cain .
