RUTLEDGE'S WERRONGGURT, LINCOLN, AND COTSWOLD STUD FLOCKS. SHORTHORN CATTLE and HORSES. RYAN and HAMMOND (in conjunction with Jellie and St. Quintin, of Warrnambool) have received instructions from T. F. Riatledge, Esq., (in consequence of his having sold his portion of the Farnham Estate), to SELL by PUBLIC AUCTION, Without Reserve, In their Wool, At WERRONGGURT, near WARRNAMBOOL, On THURSDAY, 27th NOVEMBER, The whole of his STUD and PUKE LINCOLN and COTSWOLD SHEEP, Numbering 6GOO, as under : — Pedigree Lincoln stud flock, 69G Pure Lincoln stud flock, BSB Pure Lincoln flock, 4875 Cotswold flock, 191. The pedigree flock of Lincoln sheep was formed by the late William Rutledgo in ISGS, when the first importation of Lincoln sheep was made from England. Two other importations have since been added, and in 1577 Messrs C. and A. Finlay's stud flock of imported owes (excepting the 2-tooths). The pure flock of Lincolns was also formed in 1865, and none but the highest class sires have since been used. Besides numerous prizes taken in the show-yards by these sheep in 1879, they carried off Messrs Hastings, Cuningham and Co.'s Gold Cup and certificate for 50 ewe fleeces, averaging in the grease 151b each for 365 days' growth. At tho same time and rilace will be offered for POSITIVE SALE, . GO pure-bred shorthorn cows 30 do do bulls, one and two years old 40 horses, draught, harness, and hacks. The cattle arc bred from cows purchased from Messrs Neil Black and Robertson Bros., and the young stock are by Lord Acomb, bred by the Hon. William M'Culloch.
