INDECENT ASSAULT.
Auckland, This day,
From information received _ from the Kaipara police the Auckland police authorities last night arrested the Rev. -Abraham Ridings, late congregational minister at Maungaturoto, Kaipara., on board thesteamer Tarawera, just as she was starting for Sydney, on the charge of indecent assault on a boy named William Chadwin on the 3rd of November. The accused had taken a steerage passage, and had only a few books and some trifling change of clothing with him, his luggago having arrived too late from Kaipara for the steamer. He was much affected on being arrested, and requested permission to take his Bible to the cell with him. Ho had resigned his charge.
