DEATH FROM DRUNKENNESS.
Auckland, This clay. A man named William Madden has died at Mount Eden gaol, from the effects of excessive drinking. He had been drunk for a fortnight. The jury found a verdict of death from drink, and added a rider censuring tho barman of tho Star Hotel, Otahuhu" for supplying the deceased with drink when he was aware that the deceased could not take food.
