Wednosday, The Council met at 2.30 p.m. SESSIONAL COMMITTEES.
On the motion of Sir George Wliitmore a number of committees Avere set up, including the Local Bills Committee, the Reporting and Printing of Debates Committee, tho Returns and Papers Committee, and the Goldfields, the Waste Lauds, the Native Affairs, and the Standing Orders Committees. PUBLIC PETITIONS COMMITTEE. Colonel Brett moved the appointment of tho Public Petition,. Committee, ivhich avus agreed to. CHAIRMAN- OF COMMITTEES. On the motion of Sir George Wliitmore, seconded by Colonel Brett, Major Baillio was appointed Chairman of Committees for thosession. The Council adjourned at 2.-50 p.m. >
