Messrs Ireland and Eraser, of Mauritius, report the sugar market, under dato sth March, as follows: —No change to report in prices, business now being done chiefly to arrive. Accounts from tho plantations as regards tho crops are favorable. The month's engagements for Now Zealand ports are a3 follows:— For Lyttelton, 300 ; Port Chalmers, 100. Tho clearances include -200 tonn for X.yttelton. Freight, Aiietralian 225, and Now Zealand 40s; exchange, 60 days; bank credits, New Zealand YL\ per cent, Australian 14 per cent. The stock of sugar in hand is 40,000 tons. The local breadstuff* market is quiet, with but little doing, and the demand for flour is limited to actual wants. Adelaide wheat, 3s lid to 4s; town flour £9 10s, and country brands £8 15s.
