Tho steamer Sir Donald, Captain Quinlan, sailed for Capo Turnagain and Blackhead at about 3 p.m. yesterday, taking a good cargo. She is to roturn with wool. The Union Steamship Company's s.s. Southern Cross, Captain Ross, steamed for Gisborne and Auckland at 5.20 p.m. yesterday, taking several passengers for the former place. The steamer Fairy, Captain P. Patterson, left last evening for Fairy Bay for a load of wool.

Tho topsail schooner Awaroa, Captain Holmes, sailed at 6 o'clock last night for Gisborne, taking 50 tons of Newcastle coal, 100U fencing posts, and some general goods. The s.s. Woka, Captain John Campbell, Bteamed for Blackhead last night for a load of wool.

The steamer Maori is to get away for Wairoa at 10 o'clock to-night, with pasBengers and cargo. The Union Company's steamer To Anau is not leaving Auckland for Southern ports and Melbourne until midday to-morrow, so that it will bo Sunday morning before she can arrive here. Her timo of departure from hero has been extended until 10 a.m. that day. The New Zealand Shipping Company s Bhip Wairoa, Captain Holbeche, is now a full whip, and is expected to bo clearing at the Custom House for London this afternoon. (Rkuter's Telegrams.) F. Smith ; G7 in tho second cabin, and 240 in tho steerage. Tho Tong-ariro has 4000 tons of cargo, about half of which 18 for Duncdin. She steamed an average of 13 knots during the voyage, fehe left Plymouth at midnight on October 29th, arrived at the Capo of Good Hope at 5.30 a.m. on the 29th of November, left at 11.30 p.m. the samo day, and sighted The Snares at 2.30 a.m on the 11th inst. The consumption of coal was 55 tons per day. The several compartments aro in good order, and her voyage has been generally a pleasant one, there being no sickness of any kind ; but, as is usual where there aro a largo number of passengers, some dissatisfaction prevails amongst a few, who complain of tho food supplied to them. Tho vessel is described as tho finest steamer in fitting*) and build that has ever entered Port Chalmers harbor.
