No entry will be received for any race except upon the condition that all claims, disputes, and objections arising shall be decided by the Stewards or whom the}* may appoint, and their decision on all points shall be final. All protests must be accompanied with a deposit of 3 soys., which sum shall be forfeited to the funds if the protest is not sustained. All nominations, acceptances, &c, accompanied by the necessary amount in cash must be addressed to the Secretary and left at the Petane Hotel not later than 8 p.m. on the several specified dates. The rules and weights of the Hawke's Bay Jockey Club as in force at tho day of the meeting will be strictly adhered to. Five per cent, will be deducted from the gross amount of all stakes. Any horse winning £25 after time of entry to carry 71b penalty. Railway Handicap —Of 60 soys., second horse to receive 10 soys. from the stake, distance, 1 mile. The winner of the W.C.R. Handicap to carry 71b penalty. Nomination, 2 soys. ; acceptance, 3 soys. Hack Race—Of 10 soys., distance 1 mile, catch weights. Post entrance, 1 soy. Consolation Race—Of 10 soys., one mile, for all beaten horses. Post entrance, 1 soy. RULES. No person allowed to enter a horse unless he is a subscriber of at least one guinea to the Club. All disputes, claims, or objections to be decided by a majority of tho stewards, or whom they may appoint, whose decision shall be final. All protests to be accompanied with a deposit of two guineas, to be forfeited if the protest i.s considered frivolous. Three horses to start in each race, or only half the money will be given. "Hack" shall mean a horse that has never started in a weight-for-agc or handicap race. Nominations for tho Maiden Plate (with ages of horses and colors of riders). Handicap Hurdle Race, W.C.R.C. Handicap, and the Railway Handicap, accompanied by the necessary amount in cash, must be left with the secretary at Kaikora not later than 8 p.m. on tho Bth of December. Weights will appear on the 15th of December. Acceptances for the Handicap Hurdle Race, W.C.R.C. Handicap, and the Railway Handicap, accompanied by the necessary amount in cash, and colors of riders, must be left with tlio secretary not later than 8 p.m. on tho 22nd of December. Five per cent, deducted from the gross amount of all stakes. All races run under the H..8. Jockey Club rules and weights.
