LONDON.
October 27. Salvage operations upon the wreck of the ship Mirzapore, which went ashore near Boulogne, wero commenced to-day. The contractors have undertaken to discharge the cargo, and if possible to float tho vessel. The success of the operations depends upon the continuance of fine weather. October 20. Telegrams have been received here stating that a great fire has occurred at Port Antonio, Jamaica, and that the town has been almost totally consumed by the conflagration. It is stated that Mr Gladstone will spend tho winter at Cannes, in the south of France.
