THE CAUSE OF THE CABLE INTERRUPTION.
AVeixinoton, This day. On the 20th the repairing steamer Agnes was at work on the old cable about one hundred miles oast of Banjoewangi, when she fouled and broke tho existing cables,
On Monday she met with great difficulty on account of adverse weather. One line has now been put through. She must return to port to coal and replace the cable gear lost and carried away, and hopes to put the second lino through on returning to her position.
