PORT OF NAPIER

ARRIVALS. October. 9—Manaia, p.s., from Wairoa. Passengers — Master Walker, Messrs N. Walker, 11. R. Lascellos, P. Johnson, MeCulloch, Gladwell, A. Duff, and one native. 9--Maori, s.s., from Wairoa, with one passenger. 10—Weka, s.s., from Wellington. 10—Kiwi, s.s., from Wellington and tho coast.

Tho p.s. Manaia, Captain Baxter, returned from Wairoa at 2.20 p.m. yesterday, bringing several passengers. Messrs Richardson and Co.'s new steamer Weka, Capt. John Campbell, a description of which has already been published, arrived here at 11 o'clock this morning, and was moored at the breastwork. She reports having left Wellington at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, but owing to having experienced Strong north-easterly winds, with a jobbly head sea, was unable to come along very fas';. Besides a quantity of cargo sho brought several excursionists and some engineers, tho latter to bo employed in fitting the Fairy with a donkey engine, and in repairing the lighter Why Not.

The s.s. Maori, Captain Anderson, got back from Wairoa at 9.30 last night. The s.s. Kiwi, Captain James Campbell, from Wellington and tho coast, arrived at tho anchorage at 12.30 p.m, to-day, but had not been communicated with up to tho time our report left the Spit. She will be berthed inside this afternoon, and will if possible discharge her cargo to-day, so ns to enable her to get away again for Wellington to-night. The Union Company's steamer Southern Cross, Captain Ross, from Northern ports, is due hero to-morrow, being announced to steam from tho wharf for Wellington only at 10 o'clock on Friday morning. The steamer Fairy and ketch Maid of tho Mill were engaged in lightering wool off to the barque Langstone this morning. The three-masted schooner Silver Cloud, Captain C. Balle, has cleared at the Customs for Newcastle, New South Wales, and will be leaving at an early opportunity.

Messrs Shaw, Savill, and the Albion Company's barque Pleiades, Captain Setter, will be leaving Lyttclton on Saturday for this port. She will bring a considerable quantity of original cargo from London for here, after discharging which she will succeed the barque Wavo Queen on the berth for London.
