HAAVKE'S BAY AGRICULTURAL AND PASTORAL SOCIETY. THE ANNUAL SHOW will be held on AVEDNESDAY and THURSDAY, 10th and 11th October. Mr James Boyle.—A prize, value Five Guineas, for the best yearling Colt, also a prize, value Five Guineas, for the best yearling Filly, both by "Bothwell." Mr Thomas Bishop.—A prize, value Five Guinieas, for the best pen of 20 Lincoln Ram Hoggets, not artificially fed, (hay, turnips, or mangolds allowed), bred and owned by the exhibitor. Messrs Murray, Roberts and Co.—A prize, value Ten Guineas for the best pen of 10 Longwoolled Ewes, with lambs at foot. Mr Thomas Crosse offers a Cup, value Five Guineas, for the best pair of Merino Ewes, to be grass-fed, unhoused and unclothed since the last Show. MESSRS Banker & T_ir>r>__ offer a prize, value Five Guineas, for the best pen of Five dry Longwoolled Ewes. Mr AY. Douglas offers a prize of £2 10s for the best shod hackney horse on the ground. Also, a prize of £2 10s for the best shod hunter or steeplechase horse on the ground. N.B.— AVith entries for Mr M. R. Miller's special prizes for Merino Hoggets there is no restriction as to feeding, but it is requested " how fed " may bo stated at time of entry. Hack Hurdle Race—Of 10 soys, distance, 1 mile, over 4 flights of hurdles, for all horses that have never started in a weight - for - age or handicap hurdle race. AVeights not less than 10 stone. Post entrance, 1 soy. W.C.R. Club Handicap—Of 140 soys., second horse to receive 15 soys. from the stake, distance, 1;]- miles. Nomination, 3 soys. ; acceptance, 5 soys. The winner of any handicap, after the declaration of weights, of £100, to carry 71b penalty, of £50 to carry 51b penalty. Maiden Plate—Of 25 soys., distance, 1| miles, weight-for-age; entrance £2 10s. For all horses that "have never won 10 soys. or over at time of entry, hack races excepted. Any horse winning £25 after time of entry to carry 71b penalty. Railway Handicap—Of 60 soys., second horse to receive 10 soys. from the stake, distance, 1 mile. The winner of the AV.C.R. Handicap to carry 71b penalty. Nomination, 3 soys. ; acceptance, 2 soys. Hack Race—Of 10 soys., distance 1 mile, catch weights. Post entrance, 1 soy. Consolation Race—Of 10 soys., one mile, for all beaten horses. Post entrance, 1 soy. RULES. No person allowed to enter a horse unless ho is a subscriber of at least one guinea to the Club. , All disputes, claims, or objections to be decided by a majority of the stewards,_or whom they may appoint, whose decision shall be final. All protests to be accompanied with a deposit of two guineas, to be forfeited if the protest is considered frivolous. Three horses to start in each race, or only half the money will bo given. "Hack" shall mean a horse that has never started in a weight-for-age or handicap race. Nominations for the Maiden Plato (with ages of horses and colors of riders). Handicap Hurdle Race, AV.C.R.C. Handicap, and the Railway Handicap, accompanied by the necessary amount in cash, must be left with the secretary at Kaikora not later than 8 p.m. on the Bth of December. Weights will appear on tho 15th of December. Acceptances for the Handicap Hurdle Race, AV.C.R.C. Handicap, and the Railway Handicap, accompanied by the neces - sary amount in cash, and colors of riders, must be left with the secretary not later than 8 p.m. on the 22nd of December. Five per cent, deducted from the gross amount of all stakes. All races run under the H.B. Jockey Club rules and weights.
