ODDFELLOWS' ANNIVERSARY AT WAIPAWA.
Tho tenth anniversary of the Loyal Abbotsford Lodge, 1.0.6. F., M.U., was celebrated tit Waipawa yesterday by athletic sports, a procession, and a ball. iho weather was nil tbut could bo desired, the sun shining brightly. The sports were held in a paddock next tho Repository, and were well attended by all scxch and sizes. Iho Waipawa brass band was on the ground, and enlivened tho proceeding by a ohoira selection of music. At about i o clock a procession of member of the Order Wfi9 formed outside the Oddfellows' Hall, and, headed by the band, paraded the principal streets. "The ball commenced at 8.30, and Avas avcll patronised, the gorgeous dresses of the ladies and the decorations of the hall forming n picture rarely met with. Music for the diincintr was supplied by Mr -tlaruing. The following is tho results of the events competed for on tho sports ground : — Boys' Race, under 11,—Slip Britten, 1 ; J. Cowper, 2. Men's Race, 100 yards.— P. McGrecvy, 1 : K. Arthurson, 2. Running High Jump.—P. McGrcevy, 1; W. Klccver, 2. Girls' Race, 100 yards.—A. Cowper, 1 : A. Sondertraard, 2. Boys' Race.—Bishop, 1 ; Wells, 2. Men's Race, 400 yards.—Five started for this event, which resulted in a dead heat between P. MoGreovy and H. Barry. Those competitors decided to run off at 100 yards, P. McGreevy being returned the Avinner. Boys' High Jump.—l , . Scbly, 1; C. Limpus, 2. Girls' Race, under 10.— E. Lister, 1; L. Peebles, 2. Bicycle Race, distance about a mile and a half.—Three started for this event, which Avas easily won by B. Cosgrove (scratch), W. Madison (100 yards start) second, F. Moore (220 yards) distanced. Men's Race, over 3o years. — 11. Bcachcm, 1. Men's Race, 200 yards.—o. Knocks, 1 ; 11. Biirry, 2. Boys' Race.—Bishop, 1. Running Long Jump.—P. McGrccvy, 1 ; N. Carmie'iael, 2. ('{•iris .
