SYDNEY.
Friday. Judgment was delivered to-day in the contempt of Court case. Tho proprietors of the Sydney Morning Herald Avere found guilty and sentenced to pay a fine of £250 on account of articles published in their journal commiting unfavorably upon the conduct of Justice Inuis in connection with the slander case Anderson versus the same defendants.
Heavy rains Im-c fa'len over a large portion of the colony .since last night. It is considered probable that the proposed Intercolonial Conference on the annexation question will bo held here, and will take place about the beginning of November.
