MR BROOKING'S SHAREMARKET REPORT. The following are Mr Roopc Brooking's quotations for the week : —
(By Cable.) London, August 2.3. Consols have declined to 100^. The wheat market is dull, and to eifect sales lower prices mu.stjbo accepted. Today's ({notations in colonial breadstuffs are —Adelaide wheat, ex-store, -18/- ; New Vmuliuul wheat, ex-store, ii!- to -18/- ; Adelaide fiour, ',\\ '-. Australian tallow lias advanced by Cd per ewt., best beef being now quoted at -10 li, iiml best mutton at -JI fi. Best Sydney sun-dried copra is quoted at £'10 10.'-, an advance of 10 - per ton. The total quantity of wheat afloat for the United Kingdom is 1,700,000 quarters, an advance of .30,000 during the week. Melbouiink, Saturday. Messrs C. S. Ross and Co. report the sale of timber ex Devcnport from New Zealand as follows: —Tongued and grooved flooring, 4 x ly, at 7/0 per 100 feet lineal; tongued and grooved flooring, IxJ, at -1'- per 100 foot lineal. _______
