THE COSTLEY BEQUESTS.
Auckland, This day,
At a meeting of representatives of the charitable institutions interested in the Costley bequests the question of placing the whole of the real and personal estate in one trust, the proceeds to be divided annually, was considered. The majority were against it. The representatives, however, were favorable to the retention of the freehold estate, and as legal difficulties stand in the way it was resolved to request the executors to divide the personality at once, and hold the freehold properties until after the session of 188-1, in order that an Act may be passed constituting a proper trust to manage tho properties and distribute the revenues.
