May 21. _ It was reported to-day that the Marquis of Lansdownc will .succeed the Marquis of Lome as Governor-General of Canada. At the wool sale to-day 10,400 bales were offered. Present prices' arc fivmly maintained. May 2 'J. Tho announcement that the Marquis of Lome was about to be succeeded as Governor-General of Canada by the Marquis of Lansdownc is officially confirmed.
