Volunteer recruits parade at the drill-shed at the usual hour to-night. Messrs Banner and Liddle sell t< i-morrow at 11 a.m., at their rooms, the stock in trade of a country store keeper who is giving up business. Captain Blythe directs the attention of the Rifle Volunteers to the district orders and to the company parade to-morrow evening. Professor Hugo lectures on Physiognomy at the Town Hall, Hastings, on Thursday evening. Mr Alfred Gibliu lias taken out a shooting license. The estimates of revenue and expenditure of the Hawke's Bay County Council for the ensuing year arc published, and also the estimates of the Borough Council for the same period. The nomination of candidates for the Taniumu Road Board must be made by Saturday, 28th instant, at the school-house, Tamumu, and the election, if necessary, at the same place on the following Saturday. Messrs Combs and Co. having authorised Mr W. Cato to collect all book debts due to them, same must bo paid at once, or proceedings will be taken for their recovery. Mr Lyndon has Napier town section 27'), Hastings-street, containing' half-an-acre, with all the dwelling-houses and stores thereon, for sale. Messrs Largo and Townley have received new goods iv carpets, linoleums, and floorcloths, and quote prices for same. The Davis vertical feed sewing machine, Brinsmead's pianos, and American organs are sold on deferred payments. Mr Heron, Carlylo-street wants to sell three horses, broken to single and double harness. Messrs Blythe and Co.'s millinery is now in the hands of Miss Blackmore. Mr T. R. Cooper invites tenders for the painter's and paperhanger's work required at Mr Heron's new building - in Emersonstreet. Mr Dugleby invites fresh tenders for the erection oi' an hotel at Puketapu. Mr Sutton, chairman of the Hawke's Buy County Council, gives notice that the road between the Meauee bridge and the racecourse, on the Meanee-Taradale road, is unsafe for traffic. Mr W. L. White has a five-roomed house on the Beach road to let. Baskets, perambulators, toys, and fancy goods of every description can bo obtained at W. L. White's, Emerson-street. Mr Monteith lias a suburban section at Woodville, containing eight acres, for sale. A number of new advertisements will be found in our " Wanted '' column.
