THE TREASURERS ESTIMATE OF REVENUE ALMOST. REALISED. Wkti noton, This day. The Customs returns for the colony for the financial year end'ng 31st March have now been made pubic. Tae totrl amount of revenue was £1,490,948 2s lid, being a deficiency of £3051 lis Id on the Color : al Trcasi-er's est- nate of £1,500,000. The highest amount collected ' ' l any one month was in September last, when it reached £140,050 14s Bd. The lowest, £109,303 13s 3d was collected in April, 1882. The beer duty for the last year was £02,004 0s Od, being a si- plus of £2004 0s Od OA-er the Treasm-er's estimate, and this being deducted from the deficiency from the Customs revenue leaves a tote I deficiency for the year from this branch of £387 10s 7d, which is considered most satisfactory. The Customs revenue for the colony for the last mouth was £125,117 12s 3d, for the coi responding month last year it was £110,892 0s 3d. The rel.-r. is from the principal places were —Auckland, £25,786; Wellington, £19,452 ; Lvltclton and Christchurch, £19,883 ; Dunedin, £C 4,588.
