DEPUTATION TO MINISTERS.

Mr Robert Graham and Colonel Eraser, Mayor of the Thames, waited on the Minister of Public Works and Minister of Lands this morning as a deputation from tho Thames Valley Railway Company, their object being to secure a promise from the Government of certain lands under the Railway Construction Act. Ministers pointed out that the lands m question were not yet the property of the Government, and "appeared uuwil l; ng to give any pledges regarding them. The deputation stated that they were wiling to guarantee cxpcnclitrrc upon the works-in tho same proportion as had been accepted front the Taunmga Railway Company. No conclusion was come to, the deputation undertaking to put their requirements in writing, a. iV-.'ther interview to take place after Ministers have considered them.
