WANGANUI.
This day
The body of a half-caste female child, apparently between two and three years old, was washed up on the beach yesterday, a mile north of the Heads. The body had been in the water about eight hours, and it is believed to have been swept down the river. It has not yet been identified.
The County Council has received £2800 under the Roads and Bridges Construction Act for improving Field's track into the interior.
