February. 17 —Arawata, s.s., for Sydney via Poverty Bay and Auckland. Passengers — Misses Stewart and Gordon; Mesdames Blank, Cathrine and cHld, Arrcw, Lewis, and Miller and child; Captain Precce, Rev. D. and Mrs Sidey; Messrs E. Ingpen, Gooseman and boy, Rakena, Sinclair, Larkins, Miller, J. Jan-ie, Hume, A. B. Taylor, Armey, Ray, T. Andrew, Hohaka, Lock, Moms, Delaney, Stock, Cassin, Ferguson, M'Lean, and Rogers.

The Union Steamship Company's s.s. Arawata, Oaptain Tozer, discharged her cargo, consisting of sheep and about 60 tons of general goods, into the Sir Donald on Saturday afternoon, and at 6 o'clock in the evening took her departure for Gisborne, Auckland, and Sydney. Messrs Shaw, Savill and Co.'s chartered barque Candidate, 765 tons register, Captain Laurenson, arrived in the roadstead yesterday morning from Wellington, and ■was taken over to the ballast ground by the pilot, where she will throw overboard her superfluous ballast before coming in to the anchorage. She brings about 50 tons of salt for her agents, Messrs Kinross and Co., after discharging which she is to succeed the May Queen on the berth for London, loading wool, tallow, and other produce. The steamer Maori, Captain Anderson, returned from Wairoa and Mohaka on Saturday afternoon, with several passengers and some wool aud fruit. The New Zealand Shipping Company's chartered three-masted schooner Johanu Adolph, Captain Weise, of Germany, 310 tons register, arrived in the bay from Lyttelton yesterday, and was berthed inside at" the breastwork, whei'e she will discharge her cargo, consisting of 2980 bags of salt, consigned to her agents, after which she is to succeed the Wandering Chief on the berth for London. The p.s. Manaia is now ready for sea again, and will be leaving for Wairoa at 12 o'clock to - night, should the weather moderate. The Union Steamsliip Company's s.s. Taiaroa, from Northern ports, is due here at daylight in the morning , , and will be tendered as usual. The outward passengers by this boat are announced to leave the wharf at 10 o'clock in the morning, the steamer leaving - fur Southern ports soon afterward. The three-masted schooner Frank Guy, Capt. J. P. Balle, arrived in tho roadstead from Hobart on Sunday evening, and was towed inside by tho Boojum at noon to-day, and took up her berth at tlie breastwork. She reports having , left Hobart on Monday morning, sth February, with light northerly breezes ; had a succession of N.E. and S.E. winds to Fowaux Straits; run through Fowaux Straits on the 13th, with fresh westerly wind; passed Cape Saundcrs on the 14th ; had light S.E. and easterly along the Middlo Island coast; passed Capo Palliser on the 17th; had strong northerly breeze till Sunday, the 18th, at 2 a.m., when the wind chopped around to S.W. and S., with rain off Flat Point; run up along the coast with a fresh southerly gale, and anchored in the bay at G p.m. yesterday. The Frank Guy brings a full cargo of timber aud pailings again for her owner, Mr J. H. Vautier. The s.s. Ringarooma, which left here at 1 o'clock on Saturday, is telegraphed as having arrived at Wellington at 8 o'clock yesterday morning. The Union Company's s.s. Southern Cross ia due here from Wellington on Wednesday, and will be leaving for Northern ports tho same day, after discharging her cargo inside. The discharge of the lighters at the breastwork to-day has been delayed owing to tho wot wcathor.
