IT is hereby notified that in pursuance of the provisions contained in the 62nd and 63rd clauses of the Counties Act Amendment Act, 1882, and of By-law No. 7 prohibiting , the running- at largo of Pigs and Goats, the Council of the County oi Hawke's Bay has established a Public Pound for the purpose of impounding Goats and Pigs only, situate on a portion of the site of the Public Slaughter House at Awatoto, and being within the said Hawke's Bay County, by the name of ".Awatoto Pound" as from the 10th March, ISS3. and do hereby appoint THOMAS ALDRIDGE, of Awatoto, Inspector of Slaughter Houses, Poundkceper as from the 19th day of March, 1883. In pursuance of the provisions of the ''Counties Act, 1870," and the "Counties Act, 1870 Amendment Act, 1882," the County Council of Hawke's Bay do order as follows, that is to say :-— 1. Any pigs or goats found running at large may be impounded by any person in any public pound or in any enclosure specially appointed for the purpose by the Council, and publicly notified. Such enclosure shall, for the purpose of this bye-law only, be deemed a jmblie pound, and the like fees and damages shall be payable in respect of any pigs or goats impounded therein, as in the case of a public pound. 2. The owner of any pig or goat found running at largo shall bo deemed guilty of an offence, and shall, upon conviction, forfeit and pay any sum not exceeding £1 for every pig or goat so found running at large, to be recovered in the manner provided by the 208 th section of the "Counties Act, 1870."
