"YS/HETEBEAS, in accordance Avith the H i)rovisions of "The Harbors Act, 1878," on the second Monday in the month of February, 1883, the under-named three gentlemen, members of the Napier Harbor Board, will cease to hold office, but Avill be eligible for re-election: — Edavard Lyndon, Esq., John Alexander Smith, Esq., And—John Bee Gleadoav, Esq.:— And, AA'hcreas, on the said second Monday in February, there will be an Election, by the Ratepayers of the Borough of Napier, of three Members of the Napier Harbor Board to fill the vacancy so caused. Now, therefore, I, the undersigned, do hereby giA'c notice that I have appointed the Office of the Toavu Clerk, Napier, as the place, and AVEDNESDAY, the SEATENTH day of February, 1883, as tho day, for the Nomination of Candidates, who must be nominated by means of Nomination papers, in the prescribed form, addressed to me and delivered at the said Office of the ToAvn Clerk, before NOON of the said SEAT2NTH day of February. No entiy Avill be receiA'cd for any race except upon tho condition that all claims, disputes, and objections arising shall be decided by the Stewards, or Avhom they may apjioint, and their decision upon all points shall be final. General entries, TUESDAY, 6tii MARCH; qualification fee 2 soys., for non-members, payable at same time. All nominations, entries, and acceptances, accompanied by the necessary amount in cash, must bo addressed to the Secretary, and left at the Criterion Hotel, Napier, not later than 8 p.m. on tho scA-eral specified dates. The rules and Aveights of the HaAvko's Bay Jockey Club A\ill be strictly adhered to. Five per cent, will be deducted from the gross amount of all stakes.
