The surface soil is light, resting on marl. The country is a good deal broken, but with small Hats on most of the sections. The smaller sections, under 200 acres, are agricultural, the others agricultural and pastoral, consisting of broken ranges, covered with fern and tutu, with a little grass. : Patches of bush exist in most of the gullies, the timber being mixed, but with some totara and rimu. The soil is light, resting on marl and sandstone. Description of Lands in tiie Waimata Block. —These lands arc 18 miles north of Gisborne by a formed road. The general nature of the surface is broken, but with numerous flats suitable for homestead and agricultural purposes. The vegetation is fern, tutu, and other send), with a good deal of grass in places. The forest found in most of the gullies is mixed, but with some totara, matai, and other fencing timbers. Block IX. ; sections 3 and 4, broken, soil light, covered with high fern and tutu, well-watered. Block X. ; Section 1, undulating, soil light, well watered, covered with high fern and tutu ; sections 2 and 3, undulating' and flat, soil light, well watered, covered with high fern, tutu, and grass. These, lands arc situate close to the road from Frasertown to Lake Waikaremoana, and about ten miles distant from the former. Terms of Sale.—One-fourth of purchase money to be paid at time of application and the balance within one month thereafter, otherwise the part of the purchase money paid by way of deposit shall be forfeited, and the contract for the sale of the land shall henceforward be null and void. Crown Grant fee to be paid on completion of purchase. Note.—Plans of all the above lands may bo seen on application at this office, at the Land Offices, Tauranga and Gisborne, and at all the principal Land Offices in the colony. THE PUBLIC TRUST OFFICE OF NEW ZEALAND. ATTENTION is directed to the provisions of the Acts establishing this Office and to the advantages placed thereby within the reach of every colonist. Subject to such provisions the State offers to every person : —- 1. About to make his or her Will or Codicil. 2. Intending to provide for Wife and Children or others by Deed of Settlement. 3. Settling property by way of Marriage Settlement. 4. Desiring to renounce the trusts of a Will having been appointed Executor or Trustee under the same. 5. Having acted as Trustee, Executor, or Administrator Avishing to bo relieved of the burthen of Trusteeship or Administration. The option of using the State machinery and gives an absolute Guarantee against loss of funds by fraud or dishonesty.
