Patoka Survey District. 11. .. 5 .. 263 10.. 131 12 6 Description.—The Sections in Block XIV. and Sections 30 to 35, Block XIII., Pohui District, are chiefly forest with a. few clearings. The timber consists of Rimu, Matai, and a little White Pine. The formation of the ground is undulating and well watered, the soil inclined to be light. Sections 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 11, and 12 of Block 11., Patoka, 15, and 16 of Block XIII., and S of Block 15, Pohui Districts, arc open hilly fern land, with a little bush on Sections 11, 12, 15, and 8. Sections 1 and 2, Block VI., Patoka. open fern land, hilly, soil light, overlying limestone formation, a small quantity of bush on each. Access is given by roads which have been partly formed, about '1_ miles through j the bush being cleared of timber. The Hawke's Bay County Council has in course of construction a line of road giving access to these lauds from the inland Patea road, a distance of six miles. There is also another dray road via Puketapu and Rissington. The distance from Napier is about 40 miles by vuud. Schedule cf Lands for Sale on Deferred Payments. Section 2 has a small frontage to the Taupo-road, and is bounded on one side by the Mohaka river. Sections 3 and 4 have frontage to the Taupo-road. Maungaharuru District: Fern hills and spurs on the western slopes of the Maungaharuru range, the soil is light, about one half of Section 2 is undulating country covered with natural grasses. Section 3is good pastoral laud. Section 4 has frontage to Taupo-road. A few clumps of bush are scattered about on Section 1. Waitara District: Open fern country, hilly. A bridle-road ou the permanent grades has been formed a distance of 12 miles through the block, starling from the Tauporoad about 35 miles from Napier.
