Tenders for the erection of a pavilion on the Napier Becreation Company's ground must be left at the office of the secretary, Mr Monteith, by 8 o'clock to-night. Mr Monteith will sell 40,000 feet of timber by auction at Glendinning's yards, near Napier railway station, at noon tomorrow. Nominations for the Waipawa Cup, Handicap Hurdle Baee, and One Mile Handicap," to be competed for at the Athletic Club's sports at Waipawa on Boxing Day, mu3t be sent in to the hon. sec, Mr J. A. Burtoo, not later than to-morrow. Further particulars of the entertainment to be given in the Theatre Boyal to-morrow evening in aid of the prize fund by the children of the district school are published. The Eegislrar of. the Supreme Court, Mr Birch, notifies that common jurors summoned to attend the Court on Monday and following days are not now required to do bo. Visitors' days at the Hawke's Bay Hospital are. Sundays and "Wednesdays from 3 to 5 p.m. and out-patient's days are Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from noon till 3 p.m. Mr Eyan published particulars of the the fancy goods which he will sell by auction on Wednesday and Thursday next. The goods ■will be open for inspection to-morrow and following days. Mr Jamas Bochfort, chairman of the provisional committee, invites tenders for the work of widening Emerson-street from the Union Bank to Cljve Square. Mr Q-. E. Sainsbury has sums of money to lend on freehold security at current rates. Messrs Blythe and Co. have further reduced the price of men's drab felt hats. Mr Milner Stephen will heal the afflicted poor, gratis, at the Theatre Boyal on Saturday afternoon. A publio ball will be held in the Town Hall, Hastings, on Monday evening, January Ist. Mr J. Stone, Carlyle-street, has for sale cheap a strong express, with side seats and pole, and a set of single harness. Mr Monteifch will hold another cattle sale at Beecroft's yards, Hastings, on Friday, December 22. Mr Alexander Brown announces that he has leased the premises in Hastings-street recently occupied by Messrs Leonard and Co., and will open there on Saturday with a large stock of drapery, clothing, &c. The schooner Frank G-uy leaves for Hobavt on or about the Ist January, 1883, taking passengers and cargo. Any person returning a gold locket, with part of chain and bar attached, lost between Mr Lyndon's auction mart and Carlylestreet, to Mr Roes, Criterion Hotel, will be rewarded. Mr Jacobs has just received a varied assortment of fireworks suitable for the Christmas holidays. A bay gelding ia impounded at Napier, ■which, if not redeemed, will be sold on December 27.
