A farewell soiree and meeting will be tendered Mrs Hanipson in the Theatre Koyal to-night, commencing at 6.30. Owners of horses are reminded fchafc acceptances for the Christmas, Hurdle, and Hastings Handicaps, and entries for the Maiden Plate, close at 8 o'clock to-night at the Criterion Hotel. Messrs Banner and Liddle hold their next auction sale of hides, skins, tallow, and other produce at their Spit stores to-morrow at 2 p.m. Tenders for carting about 200 tons of coal from the Napier railway station to Messrs D. Gray and Co.'s yards, at per ton, close to-morrow. The Commissioner of Crown Lands, Mr Tylee, holds an auction sale of Crown Lands, situated in various parts of this provincial district, for cash and on defered payment, at the Council Chamber, Napier, to-morrow at 11 a.m. Mr Lyndon publishes fuller.particulars of Messrs Large and Townley's surplus furniture which he offers to public competition on Thursday. The Napier Harbor Board publish a proposed bye-law in reference to the management and charges to be made for the use of the cargo sheds at Port Ahuriri, eaid byelaw to be submitted to a special meeting of the Board to be held in the Council Chamber on Tuesday next. The Municipal Engineer invites tenders for the erection of about five chains of sea wall to Beach road from Emerson-street, and also for the contracts and supplies required by the Corporation for the ensuing year. The programme of the Paki Paki races, to take place on Friday, 29th instant, is published. The Town Clerk invites separate tenders for the advertising and printing required for tbe Borough of for the year ending 31st December, 1883. A general meeting of the members of the Hawke's Bay Jockey Club will be held at the club rooms, Tennyson-street, on Tuesday next, for the election of new members. Messrs Blythe and Co. have women's good stout colored hose on the sixpenny table. Mr Dan Cotton has several first-class hacks for sale. The chief Manaena Tini gives notice that Pohuka and Tangatake cannot be turned off the Tawhao land because they have a claim on it. Anyone returning a dark bay filly, which has strayed, to Mr T. H. Gifford, Napier Bottling Cellars, will be rewarded. Messrs Neal and Close have plain sateens in all colors now open. The manager of the Colonial Clothing and General Drapery Company, not wishing to take any of the stock from Napier, is clearing it this week at slaughtering prices, and on Saturday Mr Byan will dispose of the balance at auction. Persons owing money to Mr John Evans, of Hastings, for the services of his horse are cautioned against paying anyone except Mr W. Beilby, whose receipt alone will be a sufficient discharge. The steamer Hannah Mokau leaves for Wellington at 10 a.m. to-morrow. Woods' iron and quinine wine as a remedy in cases of nervous debility, loss of appetite, &c, stands unequalled.
