The Tambour-Major Opera Company's season closes to-night at the Theatre Eoyal with the presentation of a triple bill for the benefit of Miss Elsa May, consisting of the third act of " Maritana," a musical melange, and the first act of "La Fille de Madame Angofc." A concert will be given in St. John's school-room this evening, commencing at 7.30, the proceeds to be devoted to the fund for the relief of the Schoeffler family. The committee of the Hawke's Bay Horticultural Society meets in the Council Chamber to-morrow at 11 a.m., and a general meeting of the members will be held in the same place at 2 p.m. Mr Ryan sells by auction to-morrow, at 11 a.m., on the ground, the building lately occupied as a blacksmith's shop, adjoining the cattle wharf, Spit, and a quantity of old iron. At the Horse Bazaar to-morrow, at 1.30 p.m., Mr Monteith will sell hacks and trap horses, buggy, harness, mowing machine, produce, furniture, &c. Tenders will be received not later than to-morrow by Mr S. Newbould, Meanee, for erecting a five-roomed house at Papakura near Taradale. A dramatic entertainment by amateurs, in aid of the district school prize fund, will be given in the Town Hall, Hastings, on Thursday evening next. Mr F.
