The cast of Lecocq's romantic opera in three acts, " La Fille de Madame Angot," to be played afc the Theatre to-night by the Opera Company, is published. A coach leaves Havelock, calling at Clive, to-night and to-morrow night, afc 5.30, carrying persons wishing to be present afc the final performances of the company.
The Kapier Fire Brigade meets for steam practice afc 7 o'clock this evening. Drill Instructor Nelson will exercise the Rifle Volunteers in bayonet drill at the Protestant Hall afc 8 o'clock to-night.
Mr Monteith sells 60,000 feeb sawn timber by auction afc Glendinning's yard, near Napier railway statien, to-morrow at 10 a.m.
A concert is to be given in St. John's school-room to-morrow evening, the proceeds from which are to be devoted to the fund for the relief of the widow and orphans of the late Peter Schoeffler.
Mr H. Monteith holds his regular weekly auction sale of stock, vehicles, harness, produce, &c, at the Horso Bazaar on Saturday.
Nominations for the Maiden Plate, Handicap Hurdle Race, Waipawa County Racing Club Handicap, and the Railway Handicap, to be run afc the Waipawa County racing meeting on New Year's Day, must be in the bands of the secretary, Mr J. K. Newton, by Saturday evening.
A general meeting of the members of the Horticultural Society will be held in the Council Chamber on Saturday at 2 p.m. Members of. the committee are requested to meet at 11 a.m. same day.
Mr Ryan will sell on the ground, Port Ahuriri, on Saturday, under instructions from the trustee in the estate of J. R. Davies, junr., the building adjoining the cattle wharf recently occupied as a blacksmith's shop, also a quantity of old iron.
The New Zealand Insurance Company executes risks on every description of property afc lowest; rates. The offices are now in the premises lately occupied by the Bank of New South Wales, and a list of country sub-agents is published.
Messrs Blythe and Co.'s sixpenny and shilling tables are in full swing and better than ever.
Outstanding accounts due to the firm of David Gray and Co. must be settled by the 31sfc instant, or they will be sued for without further notice.
Mr W. Denbolm, Spifc, has just received from the South a few tons of real good old potatoes, suitable for seed.
Mr Holder, near the Horse Bazaar, Hast-ings-street, invites inspection of his large and well assorted stock of saddlery and harness.
Mr Denholm has been appointed agent at the Spit for Mr Woods, pharmaceutical chemist.
