The St. Alban's Borough Council are anxious to raise a loan of £1000 for widening the streets, and a poll was taken yesterday. By the Act 373 burgbers would have to vote before the proposal could be carried, but only 342 came to the poll, and of these 118 were against it. The loan was therefore lost.
