The art and industrial exhibition at the Athenceum will be open for the last time this evening. A special train leaves Kaikora for Waipukurau at 2 p.m. to-morrow, returning after the funeral of the late Mrs W. C. Smith.
The first meeting of the creditors of K. F. Mortensen,of Makatoku, timber merchant, a bankrupt, takes place at the Court House, Napier, at 2 p.m. on Monday. Application will be made to the Supreme Court in bankruptcy. on Monday for a declaration of the complete execution of the deed of arrangement made betweon Or. Benjamin, storekeeper, of Tiiradalo, and his creditors.
Mr Lyndon, under instructions from Mr R. Rush, will dispose of by auction the whole of that gentleman's household furniture and effects, at his residence, Hastings, on Monday at 11 a.m. Tenders for the supply and delivery of coal and coke for the New Zealand railways for the year 1883 must be forwarded to the General Manager of New Zealand railways not later than noon on Monday. Messrs Banner and LiJdlc sell oranges, lemons, and new potatoes, by auction at their rooms on Monday at 11 a.m.
It is announced that the Revs. De Berdt
Hovell and William Shirriffs and Mr William White hare been nominated to fill the vacancy on the Education Board caused by the resignation of R. Dobson Esq. The election will take place on the 19th December, and School Committees are directed to forward to the secretary of the Board, on or before December 2, the name of some one of the candidates for election.
The quarterly general meeting of members of the Chamber of Commerce will be held in the new premises adjoining the Athenseum on Tuesday, November 28th. Messrs Hardy and Sidey intimate that they have purchased from Mr P. Tuxford his old-established ironmongery business, which they propose continuing in all its branches.
Mr E. A. Amphlett invites tenders for the supply and delivery at Deptford, England, of a sample of New Zealand salt beef, say 10 casks of SOOlbs each. For further particulars see advertisement in another column.
Mrs Barry is offering great bargains in boots and shoes at the Taradale Store, and is disposing of her stock of crockery and glassware at cost price. " Land," office of this paper, wants to rent a house with a few acres of land at Taradale.
Messrs Neal and Close have gents', ladies', and children's white chip tennis hats at 1/each, and have ladies' and children's costumes at half price, and infants' pelisses very cheap.
A bay gelding has been impounded at Napier, and will be sold on December Ist unless redeemed.
Mr H. Belig has recived a fresh assortment of watches and jewellery of the latest designs, which, lie is selling at very low prices.
Woods' trico saron fluid is a valuable preparation for increasing the growth of the hair.
