LONDON WOOL MARKET REVIEW.
We have been favored with the following circular, anent the London wool market, by Messrs Murray, Roberts and Co., who received it from their agents in London, Messrs Sanderson, Murray and Co., per last 'Frisco mail: —
The third series of sales closed on the 2nd instant, at fairly firm rates, and viewing the market from the opening there has been for good sorts little variation in values, but on the whole the tendency has been in favor of sellers. One or two disturbing influences, one of them a large failure in France, weakened the market for a night or two towards the close, but the drooping tendency quietly disappeared, and the last week was perhaps the strongest of the series. There has been a large quantity of faulty odd lots on the market, and at times prices for these have been a littlo irregular, and they barely recovered the drop recorded at the opening. Coarse cross-breds also, although taken freely at a low range of value, show no indications of substantial improvement, although they recovered in a measure the half penny lost at the opening. Fine crossbreds, on the other hand, well maintain their price, and, if anything, are firmer than at the commencement of the sales. Good scoured combing has been slightlj disappointing, and rather receded than improved in value. Medium qualities of washed fleece have sold well, and the few lots of fine wools placed on the market have elicited keen competition, and continue to fetch good prices. New Zealand produce remains practically unchanged, but, if anything, heavy merino wools are firmer than when last we wrote. About 10| per cent of the wools catalogued were boughb in, and altogether 307,696 bales have been sold.
