MRS. HAMPSON'S MISSION.
[To the Editor of the Daily Telegraph.] Sib, —Your correspondents, in answering the Wanganui Herald's writer on this subject, have been led quite away from the real point involved. That writer, in his most unmanly attack, chose to associate this lady's work with that of others with whom she has no concern whatever. Of her own methods, or the results of her work, he seems to be in complete ignorance, and, therefore, in what can only be described as a cowardly manner, he rakes up old slander against others, with the view of prejudicing her work. Your correspondent " Owl," in a kindred spirit of mischief, gloats over the (alleged) fall of Richard Weaver. But what has this to do with the work of Mrs HampEon ? She has been for something like a year in New Zealand, and no ill effects, but on the contrary much good, is reported aa the result of her mission.— I am, &c, H. Napier, November 11, 1882.
