The mail 6teamer City of Sydney which left for 'Frisco yesterday, took from I Sydney £140,000 in specie, and from 10,9940z5. of gold, valued at £43,978, shipped by the Bank of New Zealand.
Arthur R. Pearson was drowned yesterday at the head of Wangiroa harbor in attempting to cross it. The body was recovered and taken to Raglan. Deceased was a brother of Mr. W. F. Pearson, M.H.R. for Ashley.
The schooner Coronet, which was -wrecked near Suda, had been sold by Messrs Henderson and M'Farlane to the King of Apamana, and was insured in the New Zealand office for £600.
