The fine art and industrial exhibition at the Athenaeum is open from 2 to 6 p.m and from 7 to 10 p.m. daily.
Messrs Banner and Liddle's second sale of hides, skins, tallow, and colonial produce, will be held at their stores, Port Ahuriri, to-morrow.
Owing to Thursday being the Prince of Wales birthday, the practice of the Napier Volunteer Fire Brigade will be held tomorrow evening.
The members of the Northern Concert choir attend at the Theatre Koyal on Wednesday evening for rehearsal, ladies at 7.30 p.m. and gentlemen at 8 p.m. The annual general meeting of the Napier Land and Building Society, No. 5, takes place in the Council Chamber on Monday evening next.
Messrs Banner and Liddlo will hold the first of the season's wool sales at their Spit stores on Tuesday, 28th instant. Subscribers of £1 to the Hospital Building Fund are informed by the secretary, Mr Harker, that they will receive by return of post a ticket giving free adrnissioii (if sick) at any time up to Ist January, 1884; of £2 and upwards also an extra ticket, to dispose of as they think fit, said subscribers being entitled to vote at the forthcoming election on January Ist. The Town Clerk gives notice that summonses for the recovery of rates have been posted upon certain sections in the Borough (specified in advertisement), in accordance with clause 58 of the Eating Act, 1876. Messrs Hoadley, Lyon and Co., hold a land and property sale on Tuesday next at their wool stores, when the Grassmere estate, subdivided into convenient sized farms and sections, besides sections in Napier, Hastings, and Makaretu will be offered on favorable terms.
Mr H. P. Cohen has commenced the purchase hire system at the Little Dustpan furnishing warehouse, where he keeps a complete household furnishing stock always oh hand.
On Friday next Messrs Banner and Liddle sell by auction a quantity of household furniture at their rooms, Tennyson-street. Mr H. Stevens, Carlyle-street, has the well-known draught horse Clyde for sale. Good sandwiches, pastry, fruit, tea and coffee, &c, can be procured ak Gillett's booth at Petane on Thursday. A gentleman requires board and lodging. Address, stating terms and locality, to J.Gh, Post Office.
Mr W. E. Woods, pharmaceutical chemist, Napier and Hastings, informs the public that owing to increase in business, he has determined to reduce his scale of charges. A number of new advertisements will be found in our " Wanted" column.
