A" sale of thoroughbred horses was held to-day at Newmarket. There was a large attendance from all parts of Australia and New Zealand, but high prices were not realised. Darebin was sold for 1550 guineas, the highest price offered for any horse during the sale. Stockwell changed owners at 660 guineas, Bagot at 500, and Flying Jib at 300. Prometheus was withdrawn, the highest bid offered being 800 guineas. For Assyrian 490 guineas was bid, and for Savanaka 250, but in each case the offer was refused.
