Organ recital in St. John's Church tonight, commencing at 8 o'clock. Offertory collection in aid of St. Augustine's district.

The rowing season will be opened tomorrow afternoon by a procession of boats and scratch matches in the inner harbor. The procession starts at 2.30. Entries for the scratch matches will be received by Mr Bogle, the secretary of the Napier Rowing Club, up to 7 o'clock to-night.

Nominations for the handicaps at the Petane races must be forwarded to the hon. sec, Mr J. Stevens, at the Petane Hotel, by 8 o'clock to-night.

Auction sales take place to-morrow as follows : —By Mr Lyndon, at his mart, at 11 a.m., maize, bacon, hams, tea, and grass seed ; by Messrs Banner and Liddle, in Messrs Blythe and Co.'s yard at 11 a.m., 100 zinc lined cases; and by Messrs Monteith and Co., at the Horse Bazaar, at 11.30 a.m., horses, setter pups, corn crusher, grindstone, fencing tools, &c.

Tenders for carting timber at per 100 feet, and cement and other goods at per ton, from Napier to Kuripapanga bridge, from date up to 31st March, 1883, close at the Hawke's Bay County Council office at noon to-morrow.

Tenders will be received by Messrs Blythe and Co. up to 10 a.m. to-morrow for filling in section 214, Emerson-street.

General orders are issued to tho volunteers by the Major commanding the district in respect to the funeral of the late Colonel Lambert. The funeral will leave tho residence of the deceased at 3 p.m. on Sunday. Tho Artillery will parade in front of the Theatre at 2.30 p.m., and the Hi lies at the Protestant Hall at 1.45 p.m., both bands to be in attendance.

Tho deed of arrangement between C. H. Mitchell, of West Clive, wool scourer, and his creditors, was agreed to at a meeting of creditors yesterday, and applicatian will be

made in the Supreme Court on the 30th instant for a declaration of the complete execution of the said deed.

Edward Higgins, of Napier, butcher, has filed in tbe {Supreme Court a deed of arrangement and composition with his creditors, and a meeting for the purpose of assenting to tbe said deed will be held at the Court House, Napier, on Wednesday, November 1.

Mr W. G. Provis, hon. sec. of the Sailing Club, requests that all boats of tho Club rendezvous in Fishermen's Bay at 2 p.m. tomorrow to sail in procession from thence to the flagship. A black collie dog, with black patch on breast, has been found by Mr P. Petersen, who will restore same to owner on payment of expenses, otherwise the dog will be sold. The time of the departure of the steamer Kiwi for Wellington has been extended till 6 p.m. to-morrow. A meeting of the creditors of George Benjamin, of Taradale, will be held at the Court House, Napier, on Tuesday, Ootober 31, for the purpose of assenting to the deed of arrangement filed in the Supreme Court for the benefit of his creditors.
