TIMARU.
October 7. At the meeting of the Chamber of Commerce yesterday the question of forming a refrigerating company in Timaru was discussed and warmly supported. An influential sub-committee was appointed to take the initiative measures. It is proposed to try to buy the New Zealand Meat Preserving Company's works at Washdyke about two miles from town, which would suit admirably, as they are well situated and well supplied with water, and are of a very extensive character.
