October 3. It has transpired that it has been decided that the brigades under Sir Evelyn Wood and Sir Archibald Alison shall remain in occupation of Egypt. The rest of the troops will leave during the course of this month. October 4. The brigade of artillery which bas been serving in this country is nowreembarking for England, and the various battalions of Indian and British troops composing the Indian contingent are embarking at Suez for the Indian station. October 5. The embarkation of the troops no longer required here will be carried on continuously from to-day. A preliminary enquiry into the recent rebellion is now proceeding, and a large amount of evidence has teen taken by the Royal Commission appointed by the Khedive to conduct the prosecution of the rebel officers.
