TIMARU.
September 23. Alexander M'Bratney, a very old resident in the district, committed suicide at Arowhenua yesterday by shooting himself under the arm-pit. He only married his second wife a few days ago. No cause is assigned for the deed. Mr James Bruce', new flour-mills were formally opened yesterday. All the machinery has been imported direct from the United states, and consist of six stones. It is 76 feet high to the bed of the roof. Its dimensions are 118 feet by 74 feet, and is estimated to turn out 400 sacks of flour per day, besides oatmeal, barley, &c. It is believed to be the largest and most complete in the colony.
