First appearance Royal Australian Circus in Clive Square to-night, commenciug at 8. A general meeting of the Hawke's Bay Agricultural and Pastoral Society will be held at the offices, Tennyson-street, tomorrow, at 11 a.m. Messrs Hoadley and Lyon sell the privileges in connection with the Jockey Club spring meeting, and the Agricultural and Pastoral Society's annual show, at the Criterion Hotel at noon to-morrow. The members of the Hawke's Bay Jockey Club meet at the Club rooms, 'lennysonstreet, to-morrow at 2 p.m. A four-horse drag will leave the Horse Bazaar, and a conveyance will leave Clive, on Wednesday evening, for the purpose of conveying parties wishing to attend the public ball at Hastings. Mr W. G. Motley has been appointed a broker for the Mutual Fire and Marine Insurance Company of New Zealand, and will receive applications for shares until Saturday, 30th instant. Messrs Banner and Liddle's new stores at the Spit being now completed, they are prepared to receive consignments of colonial produce, Regular auction sales of produce will be held, the first sale commencing on Wednesday, 11th October. The firm publishes a list of goods which they have for sale, on hand, and to arrive. The Heretaunga Road Board invites tenders for forming about 17 chains of Nelson-street. The boards of advice and the local agents of the Mutual Fire and Marine Insurance Company of New Zealand in the principal towns of the colony are published. A brown gelding is impounded at Napier, which, unless redeemed, will be sold on the 27th instant. Messrs Blythe and Co. are clearing fast color washing cambric prints at reduced prices. Go to Yeuell's restaurant after the circus is over for fresh oysters, hot tea, coffee, &c. The New Zealand Shipping Company's barque Norman M'Leod is daily expected from Wellington, and will at once be placed on the berth for London direct. The Tamumu Road Board requires tenders for curtiug 350 yards of river shingle metal, and for removing about 200 yards of earth. Mr W. E. Woods, pharmaceutical chemist, Napier and Hastings, informs the public that, owing to increase in business, ho has determined to reduce his scale of charges.
