The regular monthly meeting of the Victoria Lodge of Freemasons will be held in the Masonic Hall, Munroe-streefc, this evening at 7.30 o'clock. Messrs Monteith and Co. hold their monthly cattle sale at the Shamrock yards to-morrow.

The programme of the entertainment ihinder the auspices of the Pride of Hawke's Bay Lodge, 1.0. G.T., to be given in the district school-room, Port Ahuriri, to-mor-row evening, is published. A special meeting of members of the Hawke's Bay Jockey Club will be held at the rooms of the club on Tuesday next for the purpose of electing new members. Messrs Hoadley and Lyon sell the privileges of the Hawke's Bay Jockey Club's spring meeting and the Hawke's Bay Agricultural and Pastoral Society's show and sale (to take place at J Hastings during next month), at the Criterion Hotel on Tuesday next. Mr Gr. Durham has sold the Hastings express to Mr M. Smith, who will continue the concern. Mr H. P. Cohen has the shop now in the occupation of Mrs Miles, fruiterer, Hastingsstreet, to let. Mr H. Williams, wholesale and retail ironmonger, Hastings-street, has now on hand large shipments of new goods per recent arrivals. Mr John Orr, Port Ahuriri, has, in addition to other goods advertised, 15 tons galvanized iron for sale. Messrs Neal and Close have new spring novelties in drapery, clothing, millinery, fancy articles, &c. A roan gelding is impounded at Napier, which, unless redeemed, will be sold on September 25. Mr Denholm has been appointed agent at the Spit for Mr Woods, pharmaceutical chemist. A number of new advertisements will he found in our " Wanted" column.
